does anyone know what the ‘L’ in SK2L means? i looked at specs and reviews and the model is always just listed as SK2 (no L). thanks.

tpvtI going to say it's probably a model reference to the laminate Cos. steel used , I believe an upgrade to the usual VG10.

tpvtI would say that the “L” means leather for the leather sheath but not completely sure about it

tpvtI think you have the win ! Looking further into the matter it does seem to indicate leather handle or sheath , here's one for instance https://www.knivesshipfree.com/fallkniven/fallkniven-fixed-blades/fallkniven-sk3l-curly-birch-scandi-knife-sk3-leather-sheath/
