What we fucking need is... a 1.5m cable with a 2.5mm plug! And with it a 4.4mm adapter.
We use high-end DAPs - anybody at Massdrop fucking listening?😩
Our DAPs have powerful amps and balanced outputs with a 2.5mm/4.4mm plug, do you fucking capiche?
I don't need a high-end desktop system, my DAP blows them all away soundwise & specwise! I can move about in the house with my DAP, or I can walk outside (yes I'm more than happy to walk down the street with an openback Sennheiser headphone).
And while I'm here, silver-lined copper cables sound better than copper-only cables☔
MbotTsk, tsk! I suspect your bad temper and potty-mouth won't have the effect of moving your feature request to the top of the list down at MD headquarters. Might I suggest a little less caffeine in your diet? Perhaps adding a few of those soothing "bird sounds with babbling brook noises" mp3s to your "high-end DAPs with powerful amps, balanced outputs, and blow-away sound and specs" might be helpful? Maybe a quick meditation class at the local "Y" could put you in better spirits? BTW: don't bring those noisy open back Sennheisers to class--you wouldn't want to intrude on someone else's Tantra.
RayFA narrow-minded old fogey with a lazy desktop system chimes in. How cute.
Those bubbly running brooks must really work. I don't think they babble though😉
Send us the specs of your desktop performance and let's see😁
MbotWe're highlighting your demeanor here DAPpy-Duck, not your tendency to over compensate for the "specs" nature endowed you with. On the other hand, if that's the sort of affirmation you're after, best speak to your girlfriend (or otherwise, it's brave new world, after all). Meanwhile, spend a little time working on your first impressions--we can't help you with your other issues, but at least here, we all start out as equals ;- )
MbotYes, 2.5mm BALANCED trrs plug. But to be honest, the 2.5mm balanced input was implemented mainly for use with IEMs, for which aftermarket balanced cables are commonly available. Also, I think most DAP makers — even high end ones like the Astell & Kern Kann— use the 2.5mm balanced rather than 4.4 or XLR to save space. There aren’t any other balanced interface choices out there, and 2.5 is by far the most compact, if delicate.
