As far as it being a mild razor, the odds of getting chopped up are unlikely but I've given myself wicked razor burn (my technique was lacking). I bought this on a past drop and out of my collection of Merkurs, an ikon OSS, the feather shavette and a couple of straights, I keep coming back to the AS-D2. Its my closest shaving, most consistent razor. For me, well worth the price tag as razor burn and ingrown hairs were the reason I switched to DE shaving in the first place.

gonzSame here, super close but razor burn like crazy my first go. This is after being used to the feather SS as my daily driver. So right now I'm using both. I use the feather SS for the neck and cheeks and the AS-D2 for chin and jawline. No razor burn at all that way and its about the smoothest I have ever gotten.
