While these are beautiful, mild (yet efficient), and much loved razors, I felt I should share a warning about a possibly misleading description of this Massdrop.
Feather razors are chrome plated over the stainless steel. While chrome will apparently never rust, and it is more resistant to scratches ... if it does scratch or chip I suspect that the chrome/steel edge could foster an area of higher moisture with lower oxygen, hastening the corrosion of the stainless steel underneath. It's a trade off. Not necessarily a bad trade off, but if maximizing longevity is the deciding factor in your purchase then this is something that you may want to consider. That said, only time will really tell us for sure....

Again, it's a much loved razor ... and at a great price ... but I generally think buyers should be well informed.

Plus, here is a second email sent to another Badger and Blade member:
"Firstly, we very much appreciate being so interested in our products, All Stainless razor.
Regarding your questions, please be advised that the material used in this products is, of course, stainless steel, and its surface is treated with matte chrome-plating for protection of the overall appearance of razor.
We are afraid that it would be difficult to give you further details of the element used and how the finish is produced as those details are classified as company secrets.
Thank you very much again for your interest in our products, and we will appreciate your loyal patronage for our products in the future.

That said, it appears that both of these emails were in regards to Feather's earlier AS-D1 model. However, both the AS-D1 and AS-D2 are considered nearly identical razors. From what I've read, I would be surprised if the AS-D2 in this Massdrop is not also chrome plated.
Perhaps a Massdrop employee can confirm one way or the other with FEATHER SAFETY RAZOR CO.?
