Received my Feather AS-D2 and it is a very nicely made tool.. Used it for the first time, in the shower, lots of hot water, steam, used a pre-shave oil, and a good soap with a very good boars brush.. First shave with the grain - did not remove much.. Second shave, more soap, against the grain - removed more, but not a lot more.. Third shave, more soap, against the grain, - removed more, but still not smooth.. Fourth shave, this time, with hot water from shower hitting my face, I was able to get all the whiskers off and my face smooth.. The shave was extremely smooth, not dangerous feeling at all; the razor glided really easily over all the hard to shave spots on my face.. No cuts, scrapes, etc., at all.. For me, it appears that this razor will take me longer to get a good, close shave. The only other thing I noticed was that by the end of the day, my beard was grown back pretty good and bristley.. My other Razor, an Edwin Jagger D91 shaves much more closer with just 2-3 passes, and the shave lasts longer..., Trade-offs are a pain... :) Dan F
