Feather Wood Artist Club Shaving Razor

Made by Feather, a Japanese company that’s been in the business for more than 80 years, the Artist Club shaving razor offers a return to shaving as it used to be—a ritual rather than a chore. Similar in look and feel to a traditional straight razor, this “shavette” has one key difference: It uses replaceable blades, while a straight razor must be honed and stropped to maintain its shaving edge. Like a straight razor, a shavette provides a closer shave than a safety razor can, and many say it’s easier on the skin. Complete with a folding wood handle and SUS317 stainless steel head, this is an excellent introduction to the art of the straight-razor shave. And to keep you baby-smooth, we’re including a pack of 20 Artist Club Professional blades.

For a gentler shaving experience, this razor’s rounded head and optimal blade exposure are designed to push the skin down and disperse pressure at the tip. When it comes time to replace your blade, simply pinch the razor head and the blade will drop out, leaving room for a new one to be slipped in. (Any blade from Feather’s Artist Club Professional, Super, Light, or ProGuard series will do.) Autoclavable and disinfectant safe, the razor can be easily dismantled and cleaned from the inside by rinsing water directly on the razor. Disinfect it either by boiling or using ethanol. Steer clear of sodium hypochlorite, and always use caution when handling blades.
