Great (if only an US (english) App was available)

It's a shame that there isn't a Google Play Store or Apple iOS application for this. Out of the box, I would've rated maybe 3 stars. Thanks goes to jesse93 for pointing out you can use WeChat, Scan the manual's QR code and it will take you to their page where you load the mini program and connect via Bluetooth. However, as mentioned, it is in Chinese. My Samsung phone is able to translate which helped tremendously. Without the app, you are stuck with the factory presets which are not that great in my opinion. With the app I was able to customize the standby mode (Matrix or Matrix Random) while out of the box it's an Aqua Blue color, in Matrix mode, which I did not like. I wanted to have this more aligned to Nixie Tubes and I was able to achieve the color(s) (orange-ish for Stand-By and yellow, orange, red gradient for the VU display) With the app you can customize the frequency response which I found using 280-3800Hz gives the best visual depiction of the spectrum. (the default 150-5000Hz was too sensitive at the upper range causing those tubes to spike. A couple of additional notes, in the app, you have the ability to factory reset, edit colors for each of the 8 tubes, increase microphone sensitivity, turn off stand by mode and firmware update (Hesitant to try this!) Now I have a Nixie Tube-ish display, with a rather close frequency response, fits in with my decor/lighting and it is great!

Easy without a Manual

I honestly didn't know there was an app or even options related to it. I got the color I wanted through the buttons on the device itself and like my dancing lights to the various sounds in my gaming space. For the first week my family was just making noises to see where the bars light up. So I'm satisfied with it, it would be nice if it went off of my computer's sounds and plugged into it for that reason but it be like that.

Amazing device but absolute garbage that the app is in Chinese

I love this thing! It’s so cool! It’s so ridiculous though, on the manual they give you it sends you to download an app that’s actually not even in the App Store. You have to download WeChat (China’s version of WhatsApp) and then use the app that’s in WeChat. On top of that, all of it is in Chinese. Thank goodness for Google Lens. I had to screenshot every part of the app, use Google Lens to translate, then screenshot the translation. Very deceptive marketing practice. Also I’m using the term “manual” generously. It’s all in Chinese except like three sentences in English and they vaguely describe what each button does. I will give it 3 stars since the app and manual are so crap. For 140 dollars I should be getting a much better app experience. One I can actually read. Attached is a screengrab for the app for it. It’d be a terrific app if I could actually read it.

The Female Voice Detector - A visual explosion

Just got the product in. Even though it's a lot cheaper on AliExpress (not in this particular base colour) I am VERY happy with seeing the end product in action. It is probably the most money I spent (with duties added on) for something I don't need or have any use for but holy shit is this a good looking piece of luxury kit for your setup. If you can afford it, get it. What's in the box: US power brick (USB-A) if you want to plug it in to a wall socket 1 USB-A to USB-C cable (don't know how long it is as I've plenty of those lying around so no need to uncoil it). The light show itself. :-) You can adjust the brightness, I have mine set up max brightness ofcourse. :-D There's also a choice in different colour settings, I've got it on RGB. The sensitivity can be played with too. Not sure how to put it on the most sensitive, it's just guess work on my end but it seems to be sensitive enough when plugging it in for the first time. My female colleagues think it's a waste of money, if I had spent that on shoes then it wouldn't be... ;-) They asked me what it's called and I just said: "It's a female voice detector."

Hi Matt, The first 3 sensors on the left react more to bass sounds and the 3 to the right react to high tones with the two in the middle being in the middle of the spectrum. So the sounds don't react randomly. There are quite a few colour settings that you can cycle through using the left button and middle button (don't press at the same time). Be careful though to NOT change the sensitivity by long pressing the middle button. This will set it to LEAST sensitive and I've not found a way to reset it or change it to most sensitive. I've asked customer support to contact the manufacturer for instructions on how to do this but so far no response from manufacturer, I don't think this will happen at all which is very disappointing especially since my colleague ordered the same product from AliExpress for a lot less money and his unit was EXTREMELY sensitive to sound straight out of the box. There's another product that I've seen on AliExpress that has a lot more light columns for a little under €118,- that I'm going to get. At first I thought it only had red LEDs but at the end of the video the colour settings were changed to full on RGB which looked awesome. You may want to look in to that to see if that's something you'd like to pursue. Feel free to ask me anything else if you have more questions.
