It's the cable that makes them balanced or not. These cables are not balanced.

I’ve seen people saying that noise isolation on these isn’t that good. So do these leak noise out as well or only really let noise in?

Weirdly enough they don’t leak sound at all, at least according to my wife. As for noise isolation, I would say they are below average.

I personally get really good isolation from these using the final's largest tip the package comes with. Isolation is actually quite good for me. I can put them on while my wife is carrying on and blasting TV and be pretty isolated. Also zero leakage in any practical sense.
