damn after I just got the zmf vibro drop...
I woulda snagged these I wanted some hope pandoras for a while now.. almost got them last christmas
These are supposed to be some of the best basshead sets out there
hmmm... I haven't read reviews on these, and maybe our sample sounds drastically different than it should, but listening to these for the last few days I wouldn't really describe them as "bass head sets" if we're going by bass volume.
IMO the bass in these is great from a detail standpoint, and adequate from a volume perspective. Comparing to the TH-900 and our Fostex prototype, the Sonorous comes off a bit bass light, but that's the nature of bio-celulose drivers.
Anyway, this is a really impressive headphone, easily the most detail oriented cans I've heard anywhere close to $500. Would recommend.
the pandora hopes were what I was recommended, I was recommended them months ago, it was for quality bass. basically best in their price bracket.
basshead for quality not quantity. I heard they should be plenty for quantity though, but as I said this was last christmas or so.
My youtube review from 2013 and text review on a dozen sites concurs with this.
Wait. Your "Fostex prototype"? What? Any details?
ever heard of NDA? I don't think any details may be discussed. In fact, Will may have already said too much ;)
Wow, that sure is some Secret Squirrel BS. Unless you're a Fostex rep, maybe you shouldn't assume you know the specific conditions of a document you don't even know to certainly exist?
Ever head of industry-wide standard practices?
Well if so then I look forward to more such slips of the tongue in the future. :D
Wow, they look GOOD. Would it be too much to ask about a ballpark as to their price? I'm actually talking to Zach from ZMF right now for a pair of Blackwood, one of the driving factors is that it has wood cups (and is not stupid expensive and I don't have closed headphones). If this would be a competitor then I'd wait it out. :)
Sure have! Ever heard of hype?
Edited to add more detail:
The way that you often hear a reviewer or other influential voice in an industry say "Oh, I've been auditioning X's new electrostatic, can't say too much because it's under NDA but I'm excited", well, that's not actually people breaking NDAs. In that case they've been told they can say that they're excited, that they're auditioning pre-release hardware from company X and that the hardware in question is an electrostatic. They probably CAN'T say "Oh, I don't like the headband, it gives me a headache after long listening sessions" because part of the point of pre-release auditioning is to give the company a chance to iron out any kinks in the product prior to a wider release.
Having people tease the market with scarce details about a new product builds hype and is in many ways more valuable marketing than if you released a spec sheet. Try not to get all arrogant about topics you don't understand well.
Hi Will, I just wonder is there a chance that massdrop put type B ear pad in this drop?
