I am a security professional. I have several inexpensive systems like this, there is a lot of competition in this field. These inexpensive cameras have application for general situational awareness, but I generally do not recommended these little wireless systems for any serious security purpose. I have not priced this system, but generally find most of Massdrops deals are at or better than market prices.
It says there are 40 channels but only expandable up to 4 cameras. I don't understand this...
Also I wish I saw this just before I bought an 8-channel wired, networked DVR... then again I think i lucked out.
Howdy Everyone,
The vendor contacted us today on this drop and extended the lower cost to us with half the commitment as before. The final drop point is now set to 50 units and we are currently almost half way there. We have extended the drop to allow everyone to take advantage of this.
The massdrop price vs msrp is great but currently my dropcam seems to have far better specs and comes with a cheap SaaS option, what's the incentive to get this product?

catCollectorWhich setup do you currently have? Sounds interesting.
Hello Everyone,
The vendor contacted me today and offered Massdrop a better cost if we can reach 100 units on this drop. I know that might be little of a stretch for this product but I wanted to offer the best cost possible to the community.
To answer some questions about this product so far. After researching myself and calling First Alert to make sure, this product will support up to a 32Gb SD card. The camera itself has RCA outputs. So, you can export the video out to a television or a DVR system. If you want to transfer the video to a computer you will need to do so using the SD card.
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
Cheers.
