Seems a little expensive for a Fiyta, especially given the fact I can score a Fortis for this kind of money. Unfortunately MD really missed the mark on this one. I clicked on the email thinking “oh cool a nice flieger-like Chrono watch for around $300-400”. On the the plus side, at least Fiyta limited this to a few hundred pieces. It will limit the pile of unpurchased Mach-J-20s to a few hundred.

Can someone please tell me what the $325 upcharge does for this model: the two options appear to be identical…

recent drop for Fiyta space watch had watches with the same chronograph movement offered for $300-400. Why is this watch 3-4 times more expensive?

Okay--suppose you kind'a like this watch--been think'n about buy'n a big leather jacket with a sheepskin collar 'n all, and been shop'n for a well-worn 50,000-hour hat too ('cuz you know chicks did a guy with a crusty WWII aviator look about him), but when you added all that stuff up, it turned out to be just a little more than you could swing on your lowly, baggage-handlers paycheck! Then too, there's all that damn alimony from your last two wives, not to mention those student loans from your ill-fated stint at the Aircraft Mechanics Institute of Wichita Kansas (damn, will those bastards ever stop hounding you?). Anyway, I suppose, right about now, you're think'n: how's a fella supposed afford a $1,249 Chinese watch with all that other stuff go'n on? And buddy, who could blame 'ya? Well today is your lucky day, fly-boy! I just got an email from Mark (over at you-no-where), and he just got'a whack of Aviation style watches in, and they half-bad look'n--and here's the good part: most of 'em are under two-hundred bucks and I ain't lie'n! Here's a few I kind'a like, but they have traditional round dials too:

Tough sell, methinks. Knowing what I think I know about Western consumer psychology, asking $1K+ for anything of Chinese provenance that doesn’t have an Apple logo on it is pretty ambitious.

The movement is most likely the Chinese 7750 clone coming out of 1 of 3 Chinese factories. Skeptical on the Swiss claim. The extra jewels are explained here: “The reverser wheel in the autowinder has the Shanghai five jewel clutch, not the two pawls as ETA prefers (making this a 30 jewel movement.) This particular example refuses all attempts to free the clutch up and the rotor spins when it is wound by hand” -WUS This movement has been around since 2009 originally at 21.6 and now 28.8 bph. This is is not a value and you can find “genuine” ETA 7750 movements for $700. The “fair price” for this should be under $700 imho.
