Watching the FIYTA Photographer tick is mesmerizing, to say the least. With an airy skeleton case, it offers a view of nearly every aspect of the Miyota 8215 movement—from the front or the back side Read More
I was into until it said “Chinese Company”. Just not paying that much for a so so watch that looks okay, from a country that is known to put crappy metal wherever they can. Stainless steel? Yeah right.
Kind of a darned if you do, darned if you don’t situation. I get where you’re coming from, but the problem is so much of the watch industry is manaufactured in SE Asia, you can only truly avoid it if you stick with the truly in house manufacturers. Your sub $2k watches, even those marked as Swiss made, typically have their cases made in China. Swiss law allows that along as the majority of the value of the watch is Swiss.
Mom the cheap affordable side of the Chinese specials, I’ve had good experiences with Starking and Parnis personally, and fiyta seems to get a good level of recognition as having their stuff together. Your mileage may vary, of course.
I am sure they can make a watch that keeps time and looks good. I have had bad experience in the past with things that are supposed to be stainless or mild steel and cause nasty rashes because of filler metals used. Not saying that’s this company. But I’ll stick to known brands I guess. The name is kinda lame anyway.
I might actually pull the trigger. Yeah, movement isn't the best. Besides the stupid naming I think it looks somewhat good. I feel sorry for anyone that bought the watch at 560$, that is ridiculous!
I'm not a big fan of skeleton dials but I could see many people liking this feature. There will be a lot of people not caring for the movement choice because it doesn't hack. But if you can get over that (are we really going to coordinate our exact time with others for an important mission?) then this movement is a good choice and should last a long time. Nice looking case and bracelet!
Fiyta is one of the best watch manufacturers in China. For those who don't want to buy Chinese, good luck with that, regardless of where it says your watch was made, it probably has multiple parts made in China. The Chinese version of this Miyota movement hacks, I wish they had used that instead
