Combining serious durability and comfortable stretch, these technical trekking trousers from Fjällräven are made for hiking, climbing, and any adventure that requires freedom of movement. The mid-waist is slightly lower in the front and higher in the back, ideal when carrying a backpack, and five pockets—including one for your phone or GPS—ensure you’ll have the essentials close at hand. Each pair has pre-shaped knees, G-1000 reinforcements (more on the Abisko and the Nikka than the Abisko Lite), and a raw inseam meant to be adjusted to your desired length.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice between the Fjällräven Men’s Abisko Lite Trousers, Women’s Nikka Trousers, and Men’s Abisko Trousers (+$5). Sizing is limited.
Fjällräven G-1000 material is infused with Greenland Wax for environmentally safe wind and water resistance, as well as safety against mosquitos and campfire sparks. Garments can be adapted to various conditions by waxing with Greenland, which will improve resistances during cold conditions—or removing the wax, which will cool down the garment for warmer treks.
Founded in 1960, Fjällräven was inspired by a young man’s treks in the mountains near the small town of Örnsköldsvik. Dissatisfied with the gear available at the time, 14-year-old Åke Nordin began making framed backpacks in his basement using his mother’s sewing machine, and later expanded to tents. Today, the company applies Åke’s commitment to functionality, durability, and dependability to a range of products. “Fjällräven” is Swedish for “Arctic fox.”
