Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

These used to be Focal's top-of-the-line-until-you-hit-the-really-big-stuff monitors. The next step up were the Solo6's and then the three-ways like the Twin6 and SM series. So these were pretty hardcore speakers (and were priced accordingly at about $800 per speaker). I can't speak to the Audioengine or the JBL's, but they certainly outperformed the KRK's and Yamahas in my experience, particularly in terms of "sweet spot" and midrange detail. They don't have a huge bass presence, so if you're mixing EDM you might need a sub, but their bass extension is pretty flat until it rolls off.
The reason these are dropped down to the $550ish mark is they've been discontinued, replaced by the Focal Shape series (which has a new tweeter and has passive radiators instead of ports for tighter time-domain bass response).
The CMS's are daaaaaamn fine monitors, though.
