Received my Elex pads two days ago and have been swapping pads on my Focal Elear since then. I now have three sets of pads for my Elear: the stock alcantara pads, Dekoni Elite Hybrid pads, and these Elex pads. The Elex pads cause the Elear to have significantly less midbass and upper bass, and slightly less subbass in comparison to the stock pads. As a result, the upper mids are boosted relative to the lower mids; the overall effect is that the Elear is slightly clearer, less laid back, and more foward/aggressive sounding, especially with distorted electric guitars. The downside is that the reduced bass results in less dynamism and overall eye-blinking impact that the Elear is known for. Definitely a worthwhile purchase for existing Elear owners, since I can definitely see myself using either the stock or Elex pads depending on my musical mood.
