Backed by 30 years of pro audio excellence, the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 features 18 separate inputs and eight independent outputs, as well as four of Focusrite’s custom-designed, ultra-transparent microphone preamplifiers and patented precision digital conversion technology. Built with expanding capabilities, the 18i8 is the perfect device for recording several different sources simultaneously.
Note: This unit comes with converters for European and other international outlet requirements.
Main Features
The Scarlett 18i8 comes equipped with Mic/Line/Instrument on universal XLR/TRS connectors, as well as Mic/Line capability on universal XLRs. In order to increase the number of mic inputs, use an ADAT optical digital connector, adding eight additional inputs that can be used with external mic preamps. Included in the design are two TRS outputs, two independent stereo headphone outputs, and one stereo S/PDIF coaxial output.
Finishing Touches
With the 18i8, breakout cables are not necessary as each analogue input and output has its own connector, all of which feature Focusrite precision 24-bit, 96kHz sampling A/D and D/A conversion. Included Red 2 and Red 3 AAX plugins make the unit compatible with Pro Tools. Scarlett MixControl low-latency DSP-based software also comes with the device to enhance your overall mixing experience. In order to use the Scarlett 18i8, 48V phantom power is required.
