Scarlett 2i4 Design
For a completely portable interface able to handle both line and instrument level signals, plug into the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB Interface. Built with two pre-amplifiers, a high quality headphone amplifier, gain adjustment, and a 48 V phantom power switch for use with condenser microphones, the 2i4 is surrounded by an attractive anodized aluminum unibody chassis for good looks and proper protection. An upgrade of the previous 2i2, the 2i4 now includes a MIDI input and output as well as four unbalanced RCA outputs to deliver full function for any need that may arise.
Function and Operation
No matter what input you use, the 2i4 brings you clean, detailed audio with enough gain to handle any instrumental inputs. If you want to hear the input signal without any latency, you can plug into the headphone jack and monitor directly. For a unique final touch, both gain knobs feature LED indicators that alert you if your sound is clipping (red) or if it’s exactly where it should be (green).
