I never owned a top before being gifted a stainless steel ForeverSpin. I was very engaged by the challenge of getting a good spin out of it. It's hard. But because of that difficulty. I found that when I got a good spin it felt *amazing*. Because of this harsh introduction to tops, I was hooked and I've since purchased other tops of other designs for myself. Overall, ForeverSpin tops are about aesthetics, purity, and quality. If you want something with long spin times, this is not the brand for you. If you want something that is meaningful to you *personally* in its simplicity, elegance, and challenge, these tops are amazing. I recorded spin times for my stainless steel ForeverSpin top and my stainless steel Vorso Mk1 top. After more than sixty spins on the Mk 1 and more than one hundred and sixty spins on the ForeverSpin, here are the results (time-format MM:SS): | Top Material - Brand | Max Spin | Average Spin | |-------------------------------+----------+--------------| | Stainless Steel - ForeverSpin | 03:07 | 1:37 | | Stainless Steel - Vorso Mk1 | 10:33 | 08:50 |

overpriced garbage, typical MD junk. Things that dont sell get put on MD and geeks with more money than sense buy these toys based on sleek photos and presentation. I thought based on the price that these must be some sort of nasa level engineering spinning tops that stay up like 5+ minutes. Turns out they don't and spin less than 60 seconds.

I'm confused do they spin for long? What sort of duration, obviously just an approximation will do :) thanks

Hope that helps! I'll post a top level comment with more context, but I figured you were asking about times, so here you go!

So it doesn't have a "ruby" or "w" or something else on the spinning point? Would love that. Then I might go for the Sterling Silver with a "Rubin" stone for better spinning. Maybe something to consider if possible?

Non-Metallic...am I missing something?
I have a few of these on a shelf in my office. They look very good as display pieces. I also have a couple of other tops from other companies that I use for stress relief and focus. These tops don't spin for very long and a couple are just hard to keep upright. If you're looking for a classic looking spin top for a shelf display, then look no further. And yes, they are too expensive for a display piece.
As an FYI, I purchased a large hole metal meat grinding plate for $5 to use as my display base. It works good but you need to sand/grind down the holes as they come sharp. Just an idea I thought I would pass along or you can make your own out of wood.

They don't spin long. They stink as spinning tops.

1. These are not "non-metallic." They *are* made of metal. The title is misleading and might detract people. 2. The base option seems to be copper or *brass*, not bronze. The description seems to be wrong on this point.
