I've had these cans for about 6 months and they're absolutely amazing. Easy to drive with my LG V10 so they're basically my work headphones, while my HD 600's are for home through a dedicated amp. You will not regret buying these headphones if you listen to rap, hip hop, electronic, and harder rock (although they don't do anything bad, they really shine with dynamic, bassy music). They are NOT meant for portable listening, so the cable hasn't been an issue. It's actually a great, non-microphonic , heavy duty cable if you're not trying to move around a lot and have a workstation setup kind of thing. Lastly they're gorgeous in real life, like absolutely beautiful, so you will get compliments.

zbellsummm, these are better headphones than the HD600's (I own both) so why not use the Purplehearts at home?

burrito-rustlerI don't want to carry them back and forth to work everyday mostly. Also, I love these headphones and think they're amazing, but better is pretty subjective. I would take the hd600 for classical, ambiant, and some mid/treble centric music (as well as video games for sound stage, but neither are amazing for gaming). The PH and hd600 actually compliment each other very well in terms of their respective strengths imo, but YMMV.

elbebe1000well they are definitely better for bass - and most all other headphones that are good with sub-bass either suck at everything else, or cost $1300+

burrito-rustlerI use my better headphones at work because I spend 8 hours at my desk at work using my headphones, i don't spend that much time at home and I doubt there's many other people out there with office jobs where they would like some headphones to listen to at work where they would spend more time at their desk at home vs at work.

elbebe1000The bass isn't even comparable. There's also a meatyness to the sound on the PH that is very different then on the Hd600. They honestly both present the music very differently. Whereas the hd600 is like sitting a couple rows back from an orchestra and the music is in front of you, the PH is like being the conductor, the music is right in your ear and around you... That's the best way I can describe it at least.
