Received mine today.
After all those great reviews out there I had some great expectations about those headphones. Well they sound really good. But I wasn't blown away. I use Sennheisers 650 every day. Listening to Fostex is not a day and night difference as I was hoping. But hey, I think that in certain price range it is really hard to improve something that is already amazing. Nonetheless they sound closer to the ear and have a little bit more of bass. I also find them more comfy than Sennheisers and much better made. I hate the look and plastic feeling of 650's... Fostex are all metal and feel solid. If somebody is looking for amazing set of headphones either one will blow you mind... eer... ears away.

They are more bassy than Sens 650. I would describe it like this: I am listening on Fiio Mont Blanc E12A and when using Sennheisers I always have the Bass Boost on. Fostex have similar amounts of bass, without Bass Boost. Using Bass Boost with them is a bit too much for me. So there is a nice oomph to the music. But they are not as gloomy as V moda Crossfades LP2. They have very nice mids and highs.

LeszekI think the bass on the HD650 is more accurate and less dominant. It's more relaxing sound. But with a little lack of treble.
