I had to take a closer look. I stand by all my comments with one exception, I was wrong. It is not a solid friction fit all the way around. It is except for approximately 1/2" on front hinge pin goes through. Not the same on the back (perhaps drilled and pinned). Front wood is totally removed, perhaps serving two purposes, to make access for hinge pin, and perhaps for venting as well as the back does not duplicate this "porting". Sorry for the erroneous information regarding solid, secure friction fit all the way around.
I don't consider myself a picky person but this unfinished gap really bugs me and it is not like any of the photos which have been posted below. Wondering if anyone else got a pair like mine (posted in photos below) and their thoughts regarding it.

kathleen7700So just trying to clarify, your only issue is not that there is a gap, only the wood on the underside of the cup where the gap is is unfinished?

CamboCambo, you sound as though you work for massdrop as well. If you take the time to read my comments there will be no doubt in your mind what my complaint is. I'll give you a hint, it goes beyond being unfinished. Another hint, excessing milling resulting in total removal of designed joint and resulting in a hugh gap where the intended joint is suppose to be. If you don't understand that, I don't see any purpose in further communications.

kathleen7700Just to make it clear I am in no way employed by Massdrop. All Massdrop employees have a blue role below their name, a blue circle around their icon and a blue stripe to the left of their post.

I am simply a Massdrop customer and an audiophile that appreciates these headphones and others like it.
