Listening to these cans with my favorite music over the past several hours... man, these are fun. Most of the music I listen to is pop rock, alt rock, lounge (like bossanova or jazz), progressive house, trance... so these fit the job almost perfectly -- they're much more fun to listen to than my K7XX's.
Bass is really tight and punchy, mids are a little warm, and the treble is only what I can describe as "smooth" -- not painful to listen to. I'm not very good at describing them, but I have to agree with the rest of the comments saying these are really good headphones. Was doubting if I should've spent money on these, but I'm really satisfied. Only thing I'm a little afraid of is how fragile the hinges are, although they feel quite premium. The gloss on one cup also has a few dimples, but that doesn't bother me too much.
I'll also offer my other thoughts on these: The market for semi-closed back wooden cup headphones is quite limited; only headphones coming to mind that are like these are the discontinued Denon D5000/7000s, the Fostex TH-600/900, and the Audio-technica ATH-W5000. So I'm glad that Massdrop took a step forward to make these possible, and at a great price at that -- most of the headphones listed above don't go for cheap, not below $500 new. This headphone, at this price, might just become one of the new standards for this price range and especially in the wooden cup headphone market, given that you're patient enough to wait for the next drop.
These are amazing, so for anyone thinking about getting in on the next drop -- even if you don't have the chance to listen to them and you're afraid to join, seriously consider it! Thank you Massdrop!

Now that's a headphone I've never heard of. I googled it and I can't find much about it. Apologies...

FairingreyHow would you personally compare them with Denons? Comparison in the sense what you like about them versus the Denons. Me personally: I have a pair of dynamat modded D2000, and I generally prefer the highs and the mids of the TH-X00, but I like the balance of bass on the Denons. Denons seem to have less bass, more sub-bass, and the especially with the mods any boominess sounds more spacial. Thinking about potential mods on the TH-X00 to tune the bass.

aerouI don't own the Denon D2000's, sadly. Haven't ever listened to them either. Sorry I can't offer much, but someone on this thread might be able to.
