Is it possible to choose the width? My feet run a little wide, so shoes tend to get tight later in the day.
JtchinoyHey Jtchinoy - first off, thanks for the support re: Carmina compare! As for width - unfortunately right now we're just running D width as a young brand trying to manage inventory. That said, they will certainly open up a fair bit with a few good wears. I tend to be a wide D / E in the toe box and they have come to fit great!

Founders_FootwearI have a captoe from another Italian maker that makes their RTW in E width, which becomes too tight at the end of the day. Do you think my feet may be too wide for a D width of these?
JtchinoyIt really depends on the last and it's shape just as much as the "E" width. The fact they're Italian or cap-toe won't be any matter. What's the shoe? I can try to do some digging and offer a more informed opinion. My general sense, again, would be that they're going to take a few good wears to really settle in and open up and give a little bit more to your foot, but if you can give me more detail on what shoes in E you have, I'll get back to you with some more thoughts.

Founders_FootwearThanks for offering to help. Here's a link to the shoe. Unfortunately the maker doesn't offer much support on these shoes anymore as they're produced from a retired series. [メッカリエッロ] Meccariello MEC*65307 01BL 6530701 BL(ブラック/7.5) https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B010FATYDS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_vsvZybB7F4AN5
JtchinoyYes I think if you size up one 1/2 size, our shoes will fit.

JtchinoyDamn. Meccariello's creations for the Japanese market are on Amazon!?
Anyway. My experience with Meccariello is that his shoes run really small (for people who have standard-width feet). I wear UK 8.5 in Carmina's Simpson last, and UK 8 in most other shoes (Enzo Bonafe's 946, Yanko's 915, Carmina's rain, Grenson etc). I tried UK 8.0 on Meccariello's Mayfair last, and I could BARELY get my feet in them. I had to size up to UK 9.0, and I might have to size up to UK 9.5 for his Hawkbill last (which is a banana shaped last). His shoes are PERFECT for me, I ALWAYS have to size down for other makers because their shoes are too wide for me.
So generally speaking, keep that in mind when comparing Meccariello's sizing to other makers. Be advised that Meccariello runs on UK sizing, where the standard width is F. His shoes are cut for slim low volume feet (as you said, RTW width E, so fit me great). Most makers tend to go for standard-wider feet. Here when @Founders_Footwear say their shoes are D-width, they mean the American D-width, which is the standard fitting. These shoes will be wider than Meccariello's shoes. Please correct me if I'm wrong, @Founders_Footwear.

payodpandaThanks for the input on Meccariello! Mine are from his old series, before his current Aurum and Argentum line.
I'm a US 9 in Nikes, but that's including the extra toe space for running shoes. I'd say im a true size 8-8.5 in US. 41cm in EU, so I'm goin for an 8.5 here.

payodpandaThanks! Also, regarding Meccariello shoes on Amazon, he has to sell shoes through a distributor to Japan, rather than directly. Doesn't have any control on the pricing or where the shoes get sold. I got mine from a luxury department store, but they're also being sold online. Next time I order a pair, it'll be directly from his website.

JtchinoyExactly, which is why I was surprised to find them on Amazon from the seller "Meccariello(メッカリエロ)". I thought he made shoes for Japanese sellers and they aren't sold under his name at all, but I think I was wrong. Are you situated in Japan? Did you just happen by Meccariello at the store or did you already know about him when you bought your pair?
I got mine from his outlet store, and got an incredible deal. Do check his outlet section when you intend on buying a pair--there's usually nothing wrong with them, only things like the wrong size stamped on the sole or insole, or maybe prototypes from his RTW line which are perfectly fine.

payodpandaI happened upon a pair when I was at the store. Based on my emails with his team, they don't like being affiliated with the series sold here, since it seems to be older than his web site. The series are expecting some of his new shoes in this year, but I imagine for the same price I could get an MTO made directly.
I'm living in Japan, but from America. For things where customs is an issue, I ship them to America. As is the case with meccariello, I would ship it to America to bypass the distributor in Japan and their markup. Leather products are taxed heavily if imported to Japan, so they have quite a mark up on them.
Luckily for these shoes, I just have to pay a little extra on the shipping but get an excellent deal otherwise.
