These make good eyedroppers. Especially as a demonstrator.

Does anyone know if these come with the ebonite feed if you upgrade to the steel flex nib?
sunshineboogieAll versions come with a plastic feed but they have been adjusted to keep up with flex flow needs. Kevin Fountain Pen Revolution

I was surprised to learn that no ink cartridge comes with this pen. Therefore you have to find a local store or know what kind of cartridge to buy online (which I dont b/c I'm not a fountain pen connoisseur and pay more $ before it's usable.

scottdgThe pen appears to take standard international cartridges. You can get them cheapest on Amazon, usually, but jetpens.com or gouletpens.com are easier to navigate to find the ink you want. Alternatively, you might be able to check online if your local Staples or OfficeDepot has anything in stock.
I would suggest starting with cartridges made by Diamine, J. Herbin, or Monteverde in whichever color you prefer, though any standard international cartridge will work. DO NOT buy cartridges made by Pilot, Sailor, Platinum, or Lamy, since they use proprietary sized cartridges.
This drop does include a converter with the pen, though, if you want to get a bottle of ink. If so, any ink labeled as fountain pen ink will work fine. Avoid inks not specifically labeled for fountain pens, since they might damage the pen.

Well, I received my pens… and either the manufacturer’s conception of what constitutes a stub nib differs significantly from mine, or I didn’t get the stub nibs I paid extra for. Anybody else get any surprises?

What other nibs do you have? Just the standard fine, medium, and broad? I’m looking for something that will give noticeable variation in line weight; the nibs I received don’t seem to give any variation. So if you can offer something closer to the kind of stub I was expecting (or a cursive or italic nib), I’d be interested; otherwise I think I’d rather just return these for a refund, sorry to say.
For the record, here are photos of the nibs I received:

BingobootsWe have a flex nib that offers some line variation. But it would be better if you would email me at fountainpenrevolution@gmail.com. If you decide to return them you will need to contact Massdrop.

Having purchased the Jaipur from a previous drop, I tried to find the difference between the two models: * Note that my interest, like many fellow writers, are in the flex and stub nibs. - Jaipur is a piston fill whereas Darjeeling is cartridge - Jaipur uses #5.5 nib (not as common), Darjeeling #6 - From a MD drop price point of view, the Jaipur is slightly better value because there is no upcharge on any nib type offered.
Had I known all of this beforehand, I probably would have gone for the Darjeeling, just because of the nib size.

AdrianL It uses standard international cartridges, according to one of the customer reviews on their website. The converter will allow the use of bottled fountain pen ink.

These pens are great guys. Really play above their price point. The flex is noticeably better than Noodler's, if that's your thing. Family owned company, great customer service. I couldn't recommend them more. I did a lot of Sbrebrown watching early on and that's how I got hipped to these guys and I've never been disappointed or found those reviews to be inaccurate if you want to check them out.

Anyone have an idea of the quality of these pens? Are the nib sizes similar to European or Japanese sizes?
