After reading the other reviews, I guess I got lucky. The only thing wrong with my pens was one of the nibs slightly off center, so I centered it and it works great, as does the second one. Mine have a slight plastic odor but I have to put the pen directly under my nose to get a whiff. For the money, these pens are a bargain. Maybe quality control is a bit lacking at the factory but if you got lucky with your pair as I did then you're likely a happy camper too.

Awesome pens for the price. Super dependable. I picked up pens with stub Nibs. They write really well, and produce a nice line variation. Very satisfied.

UPDATE: FPR has been willing to accommodate me for this defective pen. This is a company that cares for its customers and I appreciate this. Thank you! After having a good experience with the FPR Darjeeling I was excited to try this new pen out. My review; https://www.massdrop.com/buy/fountain-pen-revolution-darjeeling-pen/talk/2171809?utm_source=linkshare&referer=6DLTFS I still stand by. But this time I got sent a pen that was profoundly defective. Here's a picture after some light writing on day 1. The body is bleeding ink at the seams.

After seeing this, I wrapped it in some scratch paper. When I opened the paper about 20 minutes later I was pouring almost all the ink I had filled out of the cap. I noticed a lot of flaws upon unboxing the pen. The extremely crooked nib for one.

And the cap threading came in stripped, so the clip never stays straight and just flops around.

The blue one suffers none of these problems I've mentioned about the red one. But after seeing how defective the red one is I'm reluctant to keep it close to me. I'm going to keep testing it but its home might be a plastic bag for a while. My advice to any buyers of this drop is to carefully inspect your pens before putting them into your pocket, bag or purse. If quality and assurance can miss such glaring flaws on my pen.. Well.. Give yours a close look before you have a mess on your hands.
I see FPR in the discussion section frequently - if you see this could you reach out to me and send another pen, please?

Lousy pens. Neither of the pair I bought writes without skips, slow starts, or no starts. Even for relatively inexpensive fountain pens, this was a complete waste of money. After writing this review, they sent me two new ones. Nice and responsive customer service. The replacement pens were better. But not your best bet for the price. Get a Pilot Metropolitan, or even a Wing Sung.

I ordered 2 pens: both clear bodied, one fine nib and one medium nib. I had aweful results with one and VERY good results with the other as I will note below. The bad pen: Firstly, the gold rings that adorn the pen came off with very minimal use as they were probably not glued in correctly. Secondly, As others have pointed out the pen smelled quite rank. The smell was so bad it definitly made me not want to use it. Thirdly, the piston system was most likely improperly threaded during the manufacturing process resulting in a skip in the draw mechanism when filling with ink. I would rate this pen 1/5 stars. The good pen: Everything works and looks right. There is no smell and no issues with the piston. So far no problems with the gold rings coming off. The fine nib has written quite wonderfully and my blue ink looks great within the pen. I am very pleased considering the price point. I would rate this pen 4/5 stars. Problems with both pens: The threading is very poorly machined. The threads need to be dressed (cleaned) when they are finished but instead you can see burrs from the process. This pen is probably injection molded or done by CNC mill I would assume so i would want there to be an additional tool entry where a strong comb is used to clean the threads after they have been cut or released from the mold. The fact that the pens were so different is what I find most concerning. I have spent a couple years in the manufacturing industry and there is no other way to put it than this being a lack of quality control. Overall I would rate this as being a 2/5 star drop becuase you cant be sure if you will get a good or bad pen. I will say the good pen is very nice considering the price point which for me makes it worth it.

Thank you for reaching out to me. It's not really a big enough deal to me to ship back and forth on, but I appreciate your commitment to customer service.
LucidcpLet me know if you change your mind. I'd love to get you a pen you are pleased with! Kevin

I'm giving it two stars because the pens wrote "okay" the first day I inked them (lots of leaking on my hands but not on the page). A few days later, I went to use them again, and couldn't get them to write. Neither one. A week or so passed and I went to figure out what was wrong, and the ink had leaked out into the cap and dried up. In both. I could have accepted that I did something off on one, but not on both. I didn't expect fabulous quality considering the price. I really only wanted the flex nib one to play with. But I can't even do that. Not recommended, unfortunately.

Not very impressed by these pens. Hard starts and rather primitive ink filling. Does work but not inclined to use them very much.

Absolutely. Completely. Unusable. Both pens had trademark reek that wouldn't go away after bleaching, long soaks in dish soap, and a trip through the ultrasonic cleaner. The pocket clip and other flair pieces fell apart and off the pens upon opening the package. Couldn't get them back together without super glue, and then they still didn't fit right. Never even got a chance to use these pens before they went into the trash.

Not just the clips, but all the pseudo metal parts. Fell off. Both pens. After staring at two piles of parts, with loose nibs and feeds I might add, I resigned everything to the dumpster. The dumpster promptly complained about the odor. While I appreciate your concern, until the manufacturing process and quality of materials has corrected I will not be doing business with you. If these issues are addressed I'm willing to try again, I do like the concept of what you are trying to do, but it needs to be a finished product.
TZIGamesI have never seen one of these pens fall apart as you have described. So, I'd guess either the post danced on your package or whatever you soaked them in was caustic.

Both pens failed to work properly. Even with ink in the cartridge, the pens stopped working. Terribly disappointed and really would like my money back. I understand they are starter pens, but I have bought pens from China for less money that are far superior to these pens.

FountainPenRevolution Hey Kevin, I really have given these pens a try, but they just will not ink properly, so I would like to request a replacement pair. Can you email me the process to replace the pins please.
