no single hand deployment function makes this pretty much useless for its primary SD role.

NarqHe also may have been referring to icepick deployment, i.e. index finger in the retaining ring, as compared to the other two models of Fox karambit on sale which are bringing that via the wave. I mention it because that's the primary use case for a lot of karambits that are actually carried for self defense today -- reverse icepick draw with your 'off' hand, flowing into an immediate strike.

reswrightas it happens, that's why I'm electing to pass even though this is a good price for the Derespina. Karambits can be used as utility knives but their primary use case is what would otherwise be dyin' time.

reswrightYeah a karambit that needs to be flipped about to ready is a design failure, or murderer's knife

Omniseed"Well, on account of the fact that the perpetrator seems to be using a knife that needs to be pulled, then flipped open, then flipped about before he can attack his victims, the newspapers have taken to calling this one "The Dork Killer".
