Excels at bushcraft tasks? Got a chuckle out of this one. This has nothing but fighting knife DNA: the recurve, the fuller, the dagger profile and handle, the swedge... Hell, it even says "tactical" on the blade. You'll hate this knife for woods tasks (unless your woods tasks involve dispatching sentries and agro mall ninjas)

When I was a kid, SEA HUNT was one of my fave shows. In nearly every episode Mike Nelson would have to fight some bad guy under water--and of course both of them were done up in full sixties-style SCUBA gear. Invariably the bad guy would pull a big nasty-looking knife from his ankle sheath. The two would struggle back and forth for a while and finally Mike would wrestle the knife away and cut villains air hose--at which point he'd realize the gig was up and swim for the surface--where cops in a boat were always waiting for him! I just might buy this knife and go looking for Mike!

RayFI remember Sea Hunt Ray. Would’ve been late 1960’s I guess? Definitely a cool show.

My only concern is the grip material, from experience rubberized grips deteriorate fast (in the life of a knife). Still bought one.

LeoangerWon't be getting mine until after 7/30, I will do a review on it once I get my mitts on 'er. I don't know if the handle is all fiberglass or if it's then wrapped/dipped in a gripping material. Will report on my personal view and overall feel.

MjacklHmmm.... Licks blade ... I wouldn't describe it as having very much of a tang. It tastes more mettalic to me.

This is ugly, looks quite uncomfortable, and is in a mediocre steel. Hard pass.

"Uncomfortable" ? You realize it's illegal to smuggle a knife into a correctional facility, don't you?

I like the look a lot, but would be tempted to practice my throwing with it. Already broke a nice Becker.

LeoangerHa, I've also done some... "testing" too. I also have had some interesting results too. I have an old Ibuki Kiridashi knife (whittling knife) that my uncle gave me and is stunningly well balanced. Surprised the hell out of me too.

It certainly looks like a knife more custom built to being tacticool than bushcraft focused...I would more likely use it to drop behind enemy lines and take a few hostiles out than try and use it to craft my survival, but at that price it kind of adds interest in it. Would like to hear from someone that’s actually used it in the field.

Does anyone have personal experience with this knife? I'm intrigued, but pretty dubious about that handle. When they say "it looks like it might connect to a sword rather than an outdoorsman’s blade", I totally agree. But a sword handle would probably not make an ideal bushcraft knife. It just looks uncomfortable. Other than that, I'd probably bite at this price.
zenzicNo experience with this knife, but there is a reason most Bushcraft knives have a fairly neutral handle rather than a bunch of finger grooves and ribbed texture (for her pleasure?).

zenzicHandle looks disappointing indeed, too plasticky, too gimmicky.
