Product Description
Originally employed as an everyday carry knife in ancient Southeast Asia, the karambit has become an edged implement known for its utility in self-defense. Featuring the signature curved blade—modeled after an animal claw—and a retention ring along the handle, the Fox Folding Karambit takes the classic design and updates it for modern use Read More

I concur with pleading for MD to obtain the 599 for regular sized hands. This version is a beast and is less likely to find its way into ppl’s pockets.

I bought this knife a few years ago and I would definitely not recommend it. The action is absolutely terrible. Even after cleaning it, applying oil, and leaving it loose, it still cannot open half way with just the flipper. The g10 is very rough and will ruin jeans if carried enough. Also, the screws on mine rusted without any water touching them. Granted, if I had to protect myself, this is the knife I would take from my collection. Partially because it is fitted for those kinds of situations and also I wouldn't care if I damaged it because it's not that valuable to me. If you really want it, buy it, but if you're on the fence, don't even consider it.

Wow, guess these limited editions aren't moving fast enough. The price is dropping for them on the other popular karambit sites. Looks good and would love to have but 2 common dings 1) too big and unwieldy 2) it's funny that they're so flashy as a common FMA motto is that knives are to be felt not seen. (These are definitely profiled more for FMA than for Silat)

dealaholicI got in the 479 drops years ago and I enjoy by Karambit, but it is a silly knife needless to say. I find myself carrying something lighter and more low profile and/or something with a blade more designed for work.

Mine's a couple years old too but mostly unused as it was pretty loose so the blade opened in my pocket and was slicing my finger whenever I tried to dig my keys out!

From reviews I've watched, the 479 was designed for xl hands or gloved hands. The 599 supposedly was redesigned for normal sized hands.

viramanI own a 479 and it's massive. I think the size was originally due to a miscommunication of the units of the original schematics. It was later corrected in the 599.

Is the silver twill made out of carbon fiber? Or what material?
