Thanks to user participation among the Writing community, Massdrop is excited to announce the release of two custom-color Pocket 40 fountain pens from Franklin-Christoph. The poll-winning pens—Ice and Blue-Violet, and Blue-Violet and Ice—are currently available exclusively through Massdrop. In 6 months, the Ice and Blue-Violet version will be made available to the public through Franklin-Christoph.
Note: At checkout, select either Ice and Blue-Violet, or Blue-Violet and Ice. You’ll also have your choice of nib size: Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, or Cursive Calligraphy in 1.1 mm or 1.4 mm. As each pen will be handmade to order, the first 200 units will have a 30-day fulfilment time, and any other units after that will require an additional two weeks.
Handmade in Wake Forest, North Carolina, these easy-to-carry pens are machined from acrylic by one of the country’s foremost custom pen makers. They’re compatible with standard international cartridges, although the Pocket 40 also functions as an eyedropper pen. For extra protection, prime the inside of the barrel and grip section with silicone grease, then fill the entire barrel with ink. Both versions of the pen feature a translucent barrel that allows you to easily view the ink level, though the Ice and Blue-Violet version—with its machined, clear interior—offers a particularly captivating peek at the ink within the pen.
The stainless steel Franklin-Christoph factory nib is available in six different sizes, including two cursive calligraphy styles. Postable for extra length, the cap is clipless and features a threaded screw-on design. Adorning the finial is the company’s engraved logo: an Old English-style “F” inside a diamond shape.
Estimated ship date is Oct 28, 2015 PT.
Payment will be collected at checkout. After this product run ends, orders will be submitted to the vendor up front, making all orders final.
