It has all the perks of a bluetooth speaker. Except for one. The manufacturer should have at least
added a slot for micro SD card to play MP3 files. The codec for MP3 is free.

These bluetooth speakers are no doubt exploding in popularity Personally, I don't care to listen to modern music in mono. Sure, it's not a big issue at parties where everyone is milling around, talking, and not concentrating on the music. Using a single speaker for music is fine as long as you're not cheating yourself out of hearing music as the artist/producer intended. I never really envisioned myself buying one of these. But I'm still intrigued by the concept. I bought one. I bought the one made by 808 that looks like a big black can. Very cool looks and it sounds damn good for what it is. I use it to listen to my local AM radio stations streamed from the internet. News, hate radio, Saturday morning fix your car/grow your garden shows, sports, etc. It's perfect for those purposes.
speidi1My small Fugoo tough plays at least 3 very discernible channels over Bluetooth from my phone. left end (plus button) speaker is left, right end (minus button) speaker is right, and the two faces play center speaker and base.
I used this to verify.

AdamJHVery interesting. Their website indicates that the speaker has the aptX® codec for stereo via bluetooth. An FAQ on their website also mentions stereo with two speakers. I assume it's wired. aptX® codec is Qualcomm's system for CD quality wireless audio according to the aptX® codec web site. Definitely a plus that the Fugoo Tough XL supports that. Thanks for the info.
I have had this exact speaker for about a year now. I absolutely love it! It shines best at outdoor parties where most other similar products tend to sound too quiet in comparison. Also it makes for a great make-shift jukebox. I can plug in the speaker with it's ac adapter and power a tablet from the speaker's built-in usb port (so only one ac cord in use) and have the tablet set to never sleep/lock so the speaker and tablet run basically forever on ac power and people can just walk up and pick a new track/playlist/stream. I even made my own mount to hold the tablet up over the speaker and the mount attaches to the two steel rods at the top two corners of the speaker. The tablet sits a few inches up so you can still manipulate the volume buttons on the speaker itself without the mount/tablet in the way of it. Did I mention I love this speaker?!?
