it should be noted that the thumb grip shown in the pictures is not included. i highly recommend it, but it'll cost you another $60 on amazon.

nice, that just looks like a cheaper knock off. the other one is just aluminum too, no idea why it's so expensive. the attachment just adds more stability, makes the camera feel better in your hands. coupled with Peak Designs' clutch strap, i feel like my camera just floats in my hand. the feeling is amazing.

Thanks. I think I am going to take this drop. I will likely try the cheaper knockoff for the 15 dollar price point if I decide I need it. I am new to anything above point and shoot so this is exciting!
As counter-intuitive as it may seem to people already in the game, I am sort of sad it doesn't come with a kit lens bundled. I feel like I should start with the basics, right? Is the offered Fuji XF 27MM F2.8 Lens Black something that would be a good all around starter lens or it it just a nice ultralight single serving prime lens? It does look nice. though I assume it is not the WR version.

i guess that depends on whether you're used to a zoom lens, and if not, whether you have a preferred focal length you like to shoot at. i advocate for prime, always, for a lot of reasons, but to each their own. i've used exclusively the 35mm (50ish mm equivalent) for a couple years and really haven't missed shooting at other focal lengths. the lens they're offering is a fine lens, if it's what you want. it isn't WR but neither is my 35mm and i've never worried about it in light rain.
