Nice little box.
So far it's a nice little box, which looks and feels well manufactured. The only thing that could be criticized is the power/select button, which is a bit flimsy. The rest looks very robust and well built. I've only tested the TOSLink (PC) to Headphone jack conversion yet and it worked fine. No disturbing noises, no unwanted altering of the music, as far as I could hear (but I'm NOT an audio engineer, so it's just my oppinion). It's about half the size of my Fosi Q5, but at least as good (the same power/select button btw.). Further testing will show, how the USB to 3.5mm conversion works and how it performs with a 250 Ohms headphone instead of the 55 Ohms I used. :) I'd give it 4.5 stars, but you obviously can't, so I have to go with 4. The power/select button situation could have been solved better (a power button and a select switch i.e.). P.S.: I haven't tested the power supply, because it came with an american plug, which I can't use in germany. I've connected it to a powered USB hub. So it might be "noisier" with a power supply, idk. Oh, another point of critique is the "USB" power cable. Even if I wanted, I couldn't use another USB power supply, because I place my DACs on the table, not on ground. I need about 1m of cable and I got only 50cm. This wouldn't be a problem, if it was a standard USB cable, but no, it is a USB A to one of those mini power supply jack cables. So I got to get a cable like this first, before I can use a proper USB 5V power supply (the powered hub only has 0.5A per socket and the original power supply was 1A, so I'm not sure whether this will cause problems, when more power is needed, i.e. with the 250 Ohms headphones). So I guess 4 stars is fair for an overall good product with some avoidable shortcomings. Update: So far it runs nicely with the powered USB hub as a powersupply, even with the 250 Ohms Beyerdynamic DT990. Even those can be turned up to "too loud", which is all I need. Still no clicks, pops, statics or anything alike. I also tried the USB connection now, because I connected my Raspberry Pi to it and that worked perfectly well too. The only caveats so far are the power button and the 3.5mm jack. I like the 6.3mm on the Fosi Q5 better, but therefore the whole box is much smaller, which is better on a computer desk. I raised the rating to 5 stars, because it really works well and I like it so far.

hcl-165mW @ 300ohms so it shouldn’t be an issue.

Works just fine
The first thing i noticed, was everything was in Chinese. Not sure if this was made just for the Chinese market or not. I initially thought it was DOA, but it turns out you need to press and hold the power button for what seems like an eternity before it will power on. The instructions might have said something, but it was all in Chinese. Currently using it as TOSLINK to headphone and had no problems. It works quite well, but I not an audiophile so I cannot attest to the quality of it or richness of the sound, but it works better than plugging my headphones directly into my speakers. The power supply is a USB to barrel jack, it boggles my mind, that they couldn't use micro USB or, even better USB-C to power it as it would be easier to move it around and / or have replacement cables on hand. I didn't even try to use the included wall-wart because it looked very cheap. I am just using an old cell phone charger with the same specs. Would have given it 5 stars if there were some English instructions, and if the power cable was not a barrel jack.

Stopped working after two weeks
This was my first experience using an amp/dac. I really liked the way it made my headphones sound until it suddenly stopped working. I liked it enough that I'll probably buy another amp/dac soon, but probably from a different manufacturer.

Good starter DAC
This DAC has several inputs and one set of RCA outs plus a headphone jack. The sound from the headphone out is average and best with lower impedance phones. The overall sound of the DAC is pretty good for this price range. For under $50 it is a decent value.

Reasonable value, decent knob
If you are just looking for a way to connect some lightweight headphones (Grado sr60) to a computer with a weak headphone jack then this does the job. Also if turning a knob is more your thing than moving the slider on your PC, I guess this gets you there. It just plugged in by USB and was able to power itself just on that which is good to see. Don't really know how necessary this is because most cases where you'll actually need a DAC/amp you'll be looking in a higher tier.

Upgrade from on-board sound
I use this at work to get some decent quality sound. It's not the best dac/amp but it is a significant upgrade from on-board audio. I think at $35 it gets the job done. I'd recommend this to anyone on a tight budget or looking for an expendable dac/amp.

So so with bad QA
You get what you paid for. Not too bad the product itself but very questionable QA. Popping sound started the 3rd day. Checked all possible causes with no luck. Swapped back the old DAC and no more noise. Disappointed.
