Loud pop when computer stats, occasional crackling during quiet moments
I'm pretty happy with how it sounds when its working, but its pretty unusable long-term. I have it connected to my main desktop PC for music and Zoom calls. I don't listen to the music very loudly, but when I restart the computer it emits a very loud POP when the computer initializes USB. Scares the crap out of me every time. I kept with it for quite awhile, since I rebooted very rarely.
However, when COVID hit, and I started using my computer more for Zoom video calls, during occasionally calls I would notice a quiet clicking/popping in the audio when no-one was talking. It happened maybe once or twice a week, out of maybe the dozen or so calls I was part of. The only way to fix it was to unplug the USB and plug it back in, then I had to re-select the device from my settings.
Between these two problems, I decided to switch back to onboard sound, and its been fine. I'd prefer a DAC, and I'll keep my eye out for another good deal, but this one I got is a lemon.
Would not recommend to a friend.
