For anyone looking to add a headphone amplifier to their setup, the FX Audio PH-A1 has a lot to offer. Powerful yet compact, it can drive more demanding headphones—like the Sennheiser HD 650 and Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX—and won’t take up much space on your desk. The brushed aluminum housing is lightweight and sturdy, and features a front panel with a stepped volume knob, a gold-plated quarter-inch headphone out, and two switches: one to turn the amp on and off, and the other to select your source. Equipped with a pair of NE5532P opamps, the FX Audio PH-A1 accepts sources via both stereo RCA and 3.5-millimeter inputs, which you’ll find on the back panel.
