I have the Nobsound of this one chained as a preAmp of course to the class A Little Dot Mk2 and it adds that little extra bass I look for in my hd600. Just perfect. No distortion.

TonyRizoSo they are including cheapo stock Chinese tubes and the tubes in this are from the EF95 family. I am planning on rolling in a different set, probably a matched pair of my Voshkod 6ZH1P-EV's, since they have worked wonderfully, sound signature wise, with my LD MKII as well. Have you tried rolling with this preamp and if you have what tubes have you tried? Also, what tubes are you using in the picture you've posted here in your LD MKII? Sorry about all of the questions but knowledge is power. Tube POWER!!!!! =) I'm using Electro-Harmonix 6H30Pi Gold Pins for the power tubes and the Voshkod 6ZH1P-EV's signal tubes.

Neblin7Neblin you are not kidding about the chinese garbage tubes equipped with the LD MK2, i cant believe they sell this great working device with those craps on. Anyway, yes i have done many tube rolling and cant list all of them but i will tell you what i settled with which i am very content with. On the Nobsound preAmp with the bass/treble are the Jan5654w and can be found very cheap on ebay or 20 bucks on amazon by Riverstone. I tried others on the Nobsound paired with the LD and it was not very good until i tried these Jan5654w. Okay, on the LD MK2, i settled with the Super Tubes (power tubes) by Sovteck 6H30Pi (Cryoset Certified) Russian Made and cost around 75 bucks and i believe you can find them at 50 bucks or so. These were the ones that yielded the most power output. As for the Driver tubes up front, they are the famous Mullard M8161/CV4015 from the EF92 family. This combo has been the best for me. I found the Mullard to have more dynamics and as the trebel went up the bass kept up keeping it at bay. These Mullard to the exact model number are hard to find and when you do it will run at least 15 bucks each or more. I have tried others with good results but either to much treble or not enough bass. These were my best balanced tubes all the way around. And be caustious with the blue glass siemem, they are good and yielded the best bass at low volume but when volume was raised it couldn't keep up so i removed them despite the very good sound at low levels. The Voshkod 6zh1p-ev were execellent with treble but shy in the bass. However if you pair it with this listed preAmp bass/treble you can always up the bass. The Voshkod are very cheap and easy to find. Anyway you have very good tubes too as i can see. P.s i have the jan5456w on both the Nobsound and the LD MK2 which were a very good pairing, all tubes equal in brand but when i came across the Mullard, they simply outshined the jan5654w but only by the tad extra dynamics. If you are wondering why i didnt replace the jans on the Nobsound also, its because the Nobsound preAmp wont play ef92 family tubes. Only the ef95 and others will play otherwise i would have gone Mullard on the Nobsound also. Oh, just saw that you are using the Voshkod already. They have the best treble out of the whole bunch i rolled.

DavestefNo but I have them and the 5xx and the hd579 too. The hd700 I returned, the sound stage was so huge it destroyed the music.
