Hi All. I'm Gamble, the maker of the Mini-D. I'm sorry the momentum hasn't really picked up with this drop, & also that the comment vibe is trending snarky. I wish I would have checked sooner so I could clear up a couple apparent misconceptions before they had any negative effect...anyway, better late than never.
Even at Massdrop prices These are expensive, it's true. But they cost what they do because they are single maker (semi) custom USA made items. Each one is water jet cut & mass finished off site in NJ, then hand ground, formed, stamped and individually finished and assembled by me.
I've thought long and hard about the possibility of going to china for production. I probably could have them done up in stainless instead of Titanium. and sell them for in the 15-20$ range. That's a big deal though (minimums) and right now I feel more comfortable making them myself. Quality control and such....plus I actually enjoy making them.
The best place to see some great user pics is in the gallery section of GambleMade.com, but here are a couple more pics just to give a sense of how I would have preferred to present them. My contact over at Massdrop shot the majority of the pics in the listing and then never responded to my request to modify them, thanks very much, so here are the pics I have on hand. I hope these make a better case for the Mini-D as an object. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions or post your comments
