I've got a 2597, great little unit. Did have an error with corrupt map data after the initial update, but seems to be working fine now. The Smartlink is great for those mobile speed camera zones. A little annoying you can't disable alerts individually. Only global. Snappy interface and very quick to find satellites without cell tower trickery.
I use a standalone GPS as I can leave it in the car and my phone in my pocket while I make a stop. While being easy to move between my car and company cars and retain all my favourites.
