With the support of a boot and the comfort of a trainer, the Garmont Santiago GTX men’s hiking shoes are great for quick ascents and thru-hikes. Available with a low- or mid-rise profile, the upper features 1.6-millimeter-thick suede leather and breathable nylon mesh. The Gore-Tex Extended Comfort lining locks out water while still allowing moisture to pass through. The built-in heel lock keeps your foot seated in the heel pocket to prevent slippage and blisters, while the extended lacing system allows you to make micro adjustments for the perfect fit. Garmont’s bi-density compression-molded EVA midsole helps absorb impact by balancing out areas of uneven pressure. To ensure the shoes are up to any task, they’re equipped with a Vibram S1381 outsole with wide-spaced lugs that prevent mud from building up.
