What is the difference between the option of plate mount and PCB mount?
Plate mount switches mount to a plate on the keyboard (something like this:
) where PCB switches aren't mounted to a plate and have two plastic posts on the bottom (
) to help stabilize it.
Most keyboards are plate mount. Some plate mount keyboards have holes for the posts on PCB mount switches as well, but they're just there in case you accidentally buy the wrong switch and aren't needed. You can always cut the posts off of of PCB switches as well if your keyboard doesn't have holes for them.
Usually pcb mountable switches have two more plastic pins to make easier to hold them in place
