Massdrop should run a cheap drop with one of each switch type in it, so people can try before they buy. I'm sure there's more than a few holding off because they're worried they might feel like they've picked the wrong type once they've actually tried it.
manapuaYeah, that's too expensive for a sampler. Something with one of each Gateron, one of each Kailh, one of each Cherry, and one of each Topre, for example. It'd be in Massdrop's interest even if its a hassle to organise, as having more people out there familiar with all the options would mean most of those "What does X switch feel like?" or "How does x switch compare to y?" questions would get asnwered by community members rather than need to be fielded by Massdrop reps.
AnonymouseThere have been and probably will never be topre switch testers. The closest thing available is a topre keychain with a single switch and that costs $45+
manapuaWhy would people want ten of each though? That's about nine more than neccessary to test the different switches, but about fifty too few to do anything useful with. I don't get the planning of that at all.
BrandinIf I could buy a "switch sample" of all kinds : 10 gateron blue, brown, clear, black, yellow, same for cherry, and mathias / alps, and kailh I would instant buy because I really need a comparison and it would cost less to buy a big sample + the right one than makin one or two mistakes.
