I make a handwired atreus keyboard using these switches (typing on them now), they keyboard turned out well, and its not too noisy for the office. I have only used 42 switches out of the 120 I received, but no dead switches so far.

heathpBrowns are tactile though too, right? I like linear and clicky, but I've not had a lot of experience with those tactiles that sit somewhere in between.
I just recently tried some Gateron Silent Blacks though and thought they were great. So I've ordered some Greens, Blues, Blacks, and Yellows from this current drop round. I guess I'm not a fan of Cherry MX Browns so I've been rather hesitant to try out other tactile switches. (Though I was all set to try Kailh Box Oranges until this "Stem-gate" ordeal happened.)

StariusI think the browns have a very small tactile bump, but its not enough for me to notice. I have a CM keyboard with gateron blues and a broken das keyboard with cherry reds. I plan on removing the working red switches from the Das to make a small gaming gaming board. I also have some kaihl choc jades (low profile) coming in sept. I want to use these to make a portable keyboard to use with my tablet. I did pick up some PCBs for the IRIS keyboard, and will be building that next month when things get less busy around here... I'm using the rest of the brown switches to build that.
I don't have a ton of extra cash, and I love the DIY aspect of mech. keyboards, so I like building my own. Its awesome there are so many choices in switches these days, I only had a few choices when I got my first keyboards.

heathp@Starius Same lad. Hopefully building a Glorious GMMK TKL with Kailh Speed Pinks (not bronzes) they're fast linear clicky switches and they sound and feel incredible!
