I have a rather long history of "drink errors" and keyboards. I've taken apart countless dome keyboards over the years and thank god for high grade isopropyl alcohol. Putting that aside, I recently got into mechanical keyboards and it would seem I have a VERY heavy hand, because both red and blue switch keyboards I tried were insanely over sensitive to me, it was almost as if a whole new deeper plain of typo hell was opened up for me. Finally I fell in love with this CM Storm QuickFire TK Limited Edition that has green switches. Green switches were the path to typing heaven for me.
Now, I bought a set of these Gateron Switches in Green, to have for when the inevitable switch death happens. Problem is I don't know if the Cherry MX switches in it are Plate or PCB mount. I took it apart, the switches are embedded in a fairly thick steel plate and on the backside circuit board, there's no sign of any PCB extra plastic legs, so am I safe to assume these are in fact plate mount. I'm asking because I'm not terribly eager to break out the soldering gun to remove a brand new switch, just to see if it has extra plastic orientation legs.
So, does anyone know for sure if the CM Storm QuickFire TK has plate or PCB mount switches, because I just went with plate, since they're in a big steel plate?

CodeMonkeyYou just answered your own question, if the keys are embedded in a plate, then the circuit board soldered to the keys under that, then its plate mounted.
