I have been using this grater for about 5 years now. The nice thing about this grater is that the grater drums are very sharp and the radius is wide and doesn't take much effort to grate. Also the gap tolerance is tight and the cheese does not get stuck between the drum and housing which was a major complaint of mine for other graters. It is super easy to take apart to switch out the drums. This is a great grater.
My biggest complaint about this style of grater is that the top arm always flexes under pressure making it difficult to maintain sufficient down force on the grated object. You end up using your thumb directly over the top of the hopper trying to do the job that was supposed to be accomplished by the top arm with the aid of your whole hand. It gets tiring pretty fast.
Judging from the reviews on amazon, this 'Red Dot Design Award' winning grater has not managed to solve that problem.
Then throw in another favorite peeve of mine: " The gap between the grater drum is too big, so the cheese gets stuck below a certain size. You have to take it apart to get the cheese out", and I think I'll skip this drop, thanks anyway :)
ChuckDeehah, I don't even notice it anymore. I use the "Smile Always" Chrome extension... beats having to go it it explicitly constantly. Proceeds go to our local Primary School for now.
SPOSpartan104There's only 5 reviews so far, but the 'miss' reviews seem a lot more detailed and credible than the 'hits'. I always look at the negative reviews first, unfortunately that's usually where the truth lies :(
