The solid bottom design ruins it. I can see having to dig out a pressed burger with a spoon, because they'll get stuck via moisture suction. I have a slider press that's designed kinda around a springform pan type design where the sides release from the bottom, and does 2 at a time, and even they stick to the bottom well.

i never really liked thicc burgers, to me the outside is best, so better to have 2 or 3 thin ones than a thicc one. i'd love a press for super thin patties that are prob harder to make by hand.

supahThe bottom of this post at Serious Eats shows how to do smashburgers at home. This is how I do it. Two real thin burgers glued together by cheese. If you want burgers to cook on a grated grill, obviously you can't have smashburgers.

Just use a spatula, pressed down with a potato masher, if you don't want to use your hands.

This is pretty cool, even if unnecessary.

Just use a pyrex 2 cup round, flat bottom bowl. Works perfectly for me.
