Mine had some pretty interesting QC problems. I didn't even think to check if the item had a warranty, and it doesn't. Rather than return it immediately I adjusted the screws and now it sits mostly flush when closed. The right side with the screwdriver was also difficult to lock into place and a little bit of pressure would unlock it. I re-seated the little plastic bit that holds the spring in place and that seemed to help slightly, but it's still off. I considered keeping it but the return shipping is paid so I will do that instead. Overall not pleased with the build quality.

New, but is it really improved? Many of the reviews that I read said no. Thinner metal, poor alignment, poor QC. This thing is made in China and nowhere, even on Gerber's site, can I find a statement about the steel that is used. Do you really want to shell out $30 for a Chinese mystery metal creation? And has the name Gerber on it? I have one of their old Diesels. I really don't have any complaints about it, but I don't carry it because I like my Leathermen better. (Yes, plural.) I have a Gerber Strongarm. (USA) It is a good blade.

Yes, just looking at how the tool blanks are punched out, and how the scissors are constructed, I get a sense that the quality may be lacking.

I just returned one to Amazon(it was $31.77 there if anyone is interested). When closed, it was grossly misaligned. Over half an inch. Bothered me enough that I opted for a refund rather than a replacement.

I've used the classic Suspension for the last 5 years, and it's been extremely solid for me, which I would assume carries over to the new version. My biggest gripe that I can see with the NXT, though, is the Combo blade. I find them useless: you don't have enough fine edge for a good, clean cut, and you don't have enough serrated portion for large, effective strokes. It's utterly useless IMO. It would be nice if this drop included the classic Suspension and also the Truss, which is essentially the bigger brother to the Suspension, as options.
