The 400 has an open-back design and soft velvet ear pads, while the 450 Pro has a closed-back design (great for studio use) and synthetic leather ear pads. Both are lightweight and exhibit very little clamping force on the head for hours of comfortable wear. The dynamic transducers and sandwiched diaphragm structure make for uncompromised sound reproduction, and are at their best when paired with a top-notch amplifier that can handle the headphones’ 300-ohm impedance.
