At this price, will anyone recommend putting 50$ extra for the Meze 99 Noir or stay with this ones?

MexpatIt depends what you really want. The Meze are more relaxed and better looking. I wouldn't put them in the same bucket.

MexpatFor portability and going out and about the maze all the way! I heard heard them here in japan and they have a fantastic sound tonality and are fantastically lightweight.... Plus they look much better then these tank headphones.... We used to use something similar in the defence force inside submarines. Good WW2 style headphones these Maestro....

MexpatThe Meze sound phenomenal, are wooden for a unique signature, and are super comfortable. The GermanMaestro are designed to be tanks. Also, as a rule of thumb, German made headphones favor EDM style music, whereas the Meze are perfect for jazz, classical, and chill hop style music. If I were to choose one pair of German EDM focused cans, I would go for the DT770 or DT880, but again, the GermanMaestros are designed for toughness, like for DJ work and traveling. Just my 2 cents.

MexpatI just updated my review after a change of earpads. I personally feel that it might be a better option than the extra $50 for the Meze unless looks & style matter to you more. A lot also depends on what sound profile you prefer.
