if battery life and size are less of a concern for you, this is a pretty decent laptop for about $100 cheaper... i should also say that the amp and DAC in this thing are pretty dam good as well, the audio quality of the laptop is actually better than alot of my cheaper audiophile gear, it's ran almost every set of headphones i've hooked up to it.
I have one. I haven't had any issues with this laptop.
Aero 15 comes standard with a 512GB SATA M.2.
I've added a 1TB M.2 NVMe and replaced the existing 512GB SATA with another 1TB NVMe. I have a GTX 1080 Ti eGPU hooked up to the TB3 for 3440x1440@100 Hz gaming and Oculus Rift. Also upgraded the RAM to 32GB.
It's probably best to wait for DDR4 prices to decrease if you want to add more RAM. If you upgrade it; the CPU wont run anything higher than 2400 MHz, and there's only one pair of 32GB sticks that run at DDR4-2400 with 14 CAS latency. $325+ dollars normally and out of stock on amazon, $400+ elsewhere.
I'd buy this if the webcam wasn't positioned to strategically look up my nose during conference calls. I've been searching high and low for a business quality laptop that has a 1060 stuffed into it, and this is definitely one of the best ones that doesn't look dumb.
SaltyMacNot gonna carry a webcam around in my laptop bag and set it up for vid meetings. Trying to minimize weight in my work travel bag- which this laptop works well for, since its light and powerful, so I can use it for gaming at night in hotels.
zypherionouch, i'm sorry dude.
what exactly is the issue with the battery and what are they trying to charge for the repair?
should be user replaceable right?
TheIzzardKingThe battery itself isn't the issue, when running on battery there is a driver compatibility issue that causes bluescreens/crashes. A user on the forums was able to pin this down to something with Hybrid sleep and Nvidia drivers, but their support was no help at all.
The warranty service I actually sent it back for is because it just started burning up M.2 drives (physically killing them) and they are claiming it's an Intel chipset/windows 10 incompatibility that's causing the issue so it's not their problem... Not cool.
SarfauzWell, not just Conus, they also ship to Canada and, perhaps, to Alaska/Hawaii too :) But yeah, MD is really stingy shipping internationally anything really.
