ToddBaileyI doubt that nvidia will release a new architecture within a year of the release of the 1080ti. Yes, Pascal may be a year old, but it would hurt their bottom line to push something new this year. I know Vega is going to compete for market share, i just don't see nvidia rushing anything.

BLXXDTXXRSYes, this is a very good deal. By no means is this "old tech" as ToddBailey claims. Stock levels are just reaching the point where you can get a 1080 ti if you want one instead of trying to jump when a retailer posts new stock.
FYI, these generally sell for ~$720 and gigabyte sells a version with slightly higher clocks for ~$750.
The only reason I haven't jumped yet is I am water-cooling and the availability of blocks for this card is a little sparse.

ToddBaileyI'm not saying the 10x0 series is obsolete, but it's well over a year old. If I were in the market for a new gpu, I'd wait for the next release, and see what the benefits are then maybe opt for getting the latest or a 10x0 gpu series for far less than the current prices are. If you are in urgent need of what this item provides then go ahead and buy it. If you already have something with in 3 years old or less then the incremental upgrade might not make a lot of difference. But it's your money.

ToddBaileyand this is the 1080ti the next big gpu will be in 3 or so years xD this thing has more power then most gamers will need for a long time 100% worth the buy

NightFuryA water block? The only one I know of is EK. Watercool (heatkiller) has stated they are doing no AIB board blocks. I haven't seen any information from Aqua Computer.
There might be something else it there but I haven't found it yet.

NightFuryI wouldn't go that far. The EK is a good block, it is more of a question of asthetics.
There are more block options for the Founders Edition but you don't really want to use the FE on air due to noise and thermals.
This card on the other hand is perfectly acceptable on air while you prepare to go on water. Along with all the other benefits of this card over the FE.

As this would be my first water cooled build, I'm not quite sure what would be the difference between the variants.
I'm considering going a dual-loop cooling. Which of the above would give me a good bang-for-the-buck?

NightFuryThere are two variants of the EK block, a "nickel" block which has a clear acrylic cover allowing you to see the coolant and the nickel plated copper cooling core and an "acetal' version that has a black cover. This is just an asthetic difference they function the same. The other two options listed on their site are for the back plate.

WhichwaydidheGothanks for info, i have 2 1080's so it would be kinda of a waste to buy this one i guess. i can wait for the next gen whatever it may be. but i can always sell my old cards that it wouldnt hurt,. the cards pretty as hell tbh

So how's that 2070/2080 treating you? Oh that's right, it never showed up in Q3 2017. Maybe you should have done better research yourself and not just believed in all the sensational journalism around graphics cards. Sources are just now popping up to suggest that there's a Q3 2018 release date for Nvidia's latest card, and you were telling people to wait.
