thissitesucks111As stated, the same card on Newegg is $640. What is wrong with the deal? Have you found it elsewhere for better? Please share!

ColFezzLink? If it's the exact card, those are great deals.

I got 4 notifications of comments, but only one was here when I checked. I see that you didn't find the exact same card, so we're still not comparing the same things. The ASUS trades a Display Port for an HDMI. Cost cutting measures can be minor, but have a cumulative effect on final price. Still, looks like a good card, but another difference from the MD one is that it's sold out. Again, limited supply drives up price.
Like you, I expect them all to come back down this year too. I will be looking to upgrade when the Vive Pro headset is released, so I'm hopeful.

They are not actually selling at those prices that I am aware. As you can see on their website, they are unavailable. You can't buy them.

Good alternative, if you can get one. Without really digging into the hardware, it's tough to be sure they are 1:1, but the specs match up, and that card would likely serve very well.
Thanks for the link!

kauboyHey have you heard of PC Part Picker? If you're a PC guy you'd know it finds the best prices.

MadDog443I've used that site a time or two, but normally just go with whatever option gets it to me the quickest, haha. I often pay more for instant gratification. When comparing this Gigabyte card with the exact same card on Newegg which is $640, this is actually a good deal by direct comparison. That said, it's not a good deal when you expand it to all possible card variations.

MadDog443On a whim, I went and found the exact card using PCPP, and the cheapest instock it found was for $500. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/D42rxr/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1060-3gb-3gb-g1-gaming-video-card-gv-n1060g1-gaming-3gd You can see the Newegg price there too. $360 beats them both handily, all things being equal.

kauboyYeah true, I really don't care about the brand as long as it's trustworthy and has the right ports. As long as it's a 1060 with reasonable specs that are the same I'll buy for the right price.

kauboyNobody who knows what they're doing buys GPU's from Newegg. These cards are far cheaper from the manufacturer's sites, or from Nvidia themselves.

Tex-ArozziPlease stop with this. I've bought two in the last couple of months from EVGA and Gigabyte. Others have bought them as well for much less than the Massdrop price. If you want to find out, ask on buildapc sub reddit but stop with this, 'nobody can buy them ' nonsense. Learn to use nowinstock and find out for yourself.

johnukguyCalm down there, redcoat. When you become the person responsible for setting up these negotiations, you feel free to tell us all exactly how it works. Then some smartass can come along and insinuate that you're the liar. Until then, lay off with your assumptions.
